[Vyng responds with an "Oh, thank you" when Anakin makes his offer. As soon as the feed returns, he leans closer into his omni screen, to get a better look at the lightsaber. The similarities in design aren't lost on him.]
Coooool... [Said with a boyish sense of wonder.] What makes a lambent crystal a good alternative? Like, is there some special property it shares with kyber?
[ Vyng's enthusiasm brings a smile to Anakin's face. ]
It has to be attuned to the Force-- or be able to be attuned to it. So it has to be alive, in some capacity. It also needs to be shiny or reflective to be used as a focus.
[ He continues to take his lightsaber apart, now using telekinesis to move various parts and untangle small wires. ]
Kyber is easier to obtain and guaranteed to be attuned to the Force.
[Not elaborating any further, he watches Anakin deftly disassemble his lightsaber. Like Obi-Wan's, the craftsmanship is incredibly intricate. If Vyng tried to take a lightsaber apart with his powers, he imagines the metal would become splintered and gnarled like rotted wood.
[Vyng places a hand under his chin, entranced by the crystal's extraction. He almost wishes he could see it in person. Partly because screens just aren't the same...but also because he's found he can glean quite a bit about a crystal-wielder's character, just based off of the overall vibe the crystal gives off.]
Wow. That's amazing.
[He can't help but lean in a little closer, to get a better look.]
[ Vyng's unabashed enthusiasm brings a genuine smile to Anakin's face. He obliges by bringing the crystal closer to the camera on the Omni, turning it over a few times so the light shines on it.
Something in his expression flickers when Vyng asks about a trial. He supposes it was, though he didn't think of it that way at the time. ]
I happened upon it when I was looking for something else.
I never thought about it that way. Kyber "sings" to you-- it chooses you more than you choose it. But no one else has been able to do something similar with a lambent, so maybe it wanted to connect with me.
It'd make sense. Your lambent is attuned to the Force, right? Maybe it doesn't sing like kyber...but your paths still crossed during a time when you needed it, and it opened itself to you.

Impressed, he adds:]
You do that very well. Wow.

[ The last pieces settle on the worktable as he levitates the last piece out-- a shining purple crystal. ]
This is it.

How'd you find it? Through some kind of trial?

It was a strange feeling when I bonded with it. [ Wryly: ] Maybe it wanted to be something more, so that's why it bonded with me so easily.

It's often through our connections with others, that we find meaning and purpose.

I see why you and Obi-Wan get along so well.

Yeah?

You're both thoughtful and wise.
