[They're sitting together beneath the Guardian Tree at Trenchwood Farm. They just finished a meditation session centering themselves — though Vyng did sound suspiciously like he's snoring. It's prep work. Important prep work! But prep work nonetheless. With a quite snort, he jolted awake, and then they moved onto the next step.]

Feeling centered yet? Ready for the next step? It's a big one.

This raven here agrees to help you. [He's surprisingly solemn, considering he was napping just a few minute ago.] What do you offer them in return?

I. Absolute Immersion - TDM Memshare Prompt - OTA

So. You read the magical book.

An anthology of short stories about three idiots who thought it'd be a great idea to tote around a bottle labeled:

A CHILD'S NIGHTMARE

Unfortunately, it 100% bites them in the ass. And as you tumble face-first into the book's contents, you realize it's probably gonna bite you in the ass too. Sorry about that.

II. Raven Sight - Closed for Palebloods inflicted with blindness

[Trenchwood Farm's Guardian Tree is a prime meditation spot: Free of corruptive influences, protected from Beasts, and surrounded by the eerie tranquility of the wilds. And that is exactly where Vyng brings any Palebloods struggling with eyesight — at least, those the local ravens are willing to assist.

Lanky legs folded beneath himself, he lets out a quiet breath.]

III. Knowledge is Power — New CR Encouraged, Old CR Welcome

[As reticent as Vyng can be about his own past, he's always curious about the Sleepers who wash onto Trench's shores. And if chatting with new people can help with soil purification efforts on the farm, he's willing to be a little open. Besides, what does he have to possibly lose?

This time, he happens to be showing the Feather Wreath he received from Never Mind for his Blessed Day.]

I heard it's impossible to lie in front of this thing. [He grins.] Want to test it?

I. Baby Got Black (Glass) - Open to anyone who read the Child's Nightmare

[People who made it out of the Child's Nightmare alive will discover they kept a single souvenir: A smooth obsidian ring with a faint, fuzzy glow.

Perhaps you seek Vyng out via Omni or in-person for more information about the ring. Maybe Vyng catches sight of it in passing at the beach, on Trenchwood Farm, or in the Archive. Either way, Vyng's eyes will be drawn toward the piece of jewelry.

Quietly, he asks:]

Where did you find this?

II. Lost in the Woods - OTA

[He's pretty they're in Trenchwood — the question, then, is...how far are they from the farm? Vyng observes what he can about the area: The type of bark on the trees, the formation of mushrooms, the overcast sky above. Eventually, he crouches down on the ground.

And puts a handful of dirt into his mouth.]

Farmlads - Trenchwood Farm - OSCAR

[The Fall in the Great Forest was juts as dangerous as any autumn he'd experienced in Trench. Mushrooms that could lure a person to their demise with promises of loved ones and secrets of the universe, leaves that suffocated people, and the personification of Death itself looming over him — Trench's brand of horror was almost enough to make a person homesick.

In fact, sometimes, Vyng lets himself reminisce about home. The Great Forest represented much of what he wanted to put behind him, but...there were many things he loved about it as well. Even now, he can almost hear the haunting hum of the chune trees on a brisk, blustery evening.

He lies in a pile of leaves. Closes his eyes. Breathes deep. Connects with the spirits of autumn around him. Until he becomes the leaves, is the leaves. A pile of golden and orange hues...

And then Oscar Pine steps on him. Or rather, on all the pieces of him.]

Ow.

[...says the pile of leaves.]

A Faded Memory - The Docks - MANABU

[Vyng still spends much of his time in the countryside, although he occasionally drops by their house in Crenshaw. Today, though, Manabu receives a curious text:]

u up? some people might die meet me at the docks if you want to help thz thx

A. Welcome to the Black Parade

[If you helped out at all during Vyng's strange scavenger hunt this month — or, hell, even if you didn't — there's a chance he'll try roping you into an abrupt, last-minute romp at Colonel Dan's — considerably cleaner than it was a month ago, albeit still not yet open to the public.

To gain entrance, one must give a kiss to the taxidermied alligator by the heavy wooden door. Her name is Geraldine and she is the gatekeeper to this dive. Once inside, you'll be treated to a range of drinks (slung by Vyng personally), teen dramas projected by Tuck's Omni, and...of course—

A single G note rises above the low din. Vyng instantly freezes at the bar. He gazes upward, a faraway look in his eye.

"Don't do it," says Darrell, a local Trenchie who is apparently friends (?) with these guys.

The words WELCOME TO THE BLACK PARADE - My Alchemical Romance suddenly appear on the far wall, courtesy of the projector.

"Don't you fucking dare." Another Trenchie — Dale — slams his hand on the bar. "Dammit, Vyng!"

Vyng solemnly places a hand over his chest. And locks eyes with the nearest Sleeper.

You know what to do.

(Or do you?)]

B. Hither & Yon

[Of course, it's always fun to share a piece of home when possible. In this case, it's a tradition. Vyng waves you over behind the bar so he can show you something: A poem etched into one of the liquor shelves.

I pay homage to The Barkeep He fills our cups and cooks our stew And gives shelter from the road - Tuck

Vyng also nods toward a drawing near it: A sketch of a gnarled tree, made of three jagged B-shapes stacked on top of each other.]

My family made these. We want to turn this place into a shrine. [He grins.] How's about you add something to it too?

B. Reflections

[Or maybe you catch Vyng toward the end of the night — contemplative, as he studies a simple tiara made of braided wood resting in his hands. And yet, as pensive as he appears, there's gratitude in Vyng's eyes as well.]
